Start with discovery

We review who will use the application, what they need to do, your existing tools and the data involved. We identify essential features, access requirements, integration constraints and acceptance criteria. The first deliverable is an agreed scope and estimate, so you can assess the work before committing to a build.

A practical budget for a first version

Our guide budget for a small custom dashboard or portal is £3,000–£8,000. This is a planning allowance, not a fixed package or a quote for every application. Final pricing follows discovery and a capacity check. Software discovery is £350 per seven-hour day. Hosting, licences and other third-party charges are separate, with VAT where applicable confirmed in the written quote.

Build, review and handover

The agreed scope defines the features, milestones and review process. We test against acceptance criteria, gather consolidated feedback and provide the agreed handover notes and project files after final payment. The agreement sets out ownership, reusable components and third-party licence restrictions. Ongoing support and future development are scoped separately.

A custom application is useful when the process needs more than a standard website or a simple automation. If an existing tool can meet the requirement with less work, that belongs in the discussion too. Bring an example spreadsheet, an outline of the process or a short description of the problem to the first call. Please avoid sending passwords or sensitive customer information.
